My client is an experienced cruiser and really wanted to go all out to celebrate her sister's birthday! She opted for a Butler Suite and wrote this very informative blog about the experience. Maybe this will entice you to go to the next level on your next cruise!



 We had the best vacation ever! Even better than last year. The butler/concierge combinaiton this year was spectacular - we were spoiled rotten by both wonderful men. Just what we needed! I cannot begin to tell you how wonderful the "Suite Life" is on NCL. If any of your clients like to cruise and want to be pampered, I highly recommend it. Sometimes it is much more money for a suite than a balcony cabin but sometimes you can get a steal. (You can snag a penthouse suite on the August 23rd sailing on the NCL Gem for only $1399). I think that it well worth the spluge because here is a list of what you get:

1. Priority Boarding and security line. We arrived at the port at about 11:30am and by 11:40 we were personally escorted onto the ship by our Butler, Zahid. He brought us to Cagneys for lunch. After lunch our concierge called our butler to find out if our cabin was ready. It was and even though the rest of the cabins on our floor were not done, we were escorted to our cabin. Bags for suite guests get delivered first and we had ours before the lifeboat drill even started.
       
2. Breakfast/Lunch at Cagneys. Exclusively for suite guests. It is by far my favorite of the specialty resturants on any NCL ship. It is nice, quiet, calm way to start your day. The servers are excellent and there is never a wait. If you do not like what is on the menu, they will get you anything from anywhere on the ship. (I am not sure if the word "No" is in their vocabulary!)

3. Priority Disembarkation: We left our cabin and were escorted off the ship by our concierge. Literally from cabin to car, through baggage claim and customs was less than 7 minutes. Incredible.

4. Priority Tendering or disembarkation at ports. Just let the concierge know when you want to go and he will wisk you passed everyone waiting in line to get off the ship first. (They do this behind the scenes so that the others do not know that you are doing it!)

5. Butler: OMG! Our butler this time was so good. He brought us treats every day and really paid attention to what we liked. He would see me eating something in my cabin and add that thing to the rotation of treats that he would bring us with out asking. We had a cordless phone to carry with us whereever we went so that we could get in touch with our butler or concierge at any time. Ex. We were walking through customs in Nassau and decided that we wer hungry. So while waiting in line I just called Zahid and asked him to have a snack ready for us on our balcony when we boarded. When we returned, we had sandwiches, fruit, cheese, crackers. chips and dip, etc all waiting for us.

6. Concierge: He would make dinner reservations for us even if the resturant showed fully booked. Never had to wait anywhere on the ship. He always came to find us each evening at dinner, even if we did not make a reservation with him. to check and see if everything was ok and to let the wait staff know that we were suite guests and to be sure to take care of us.

7. Pillow menu, fruit basket in room, champagne, Lavazza espresso maker in room, so many great things in the room itself.

8. A special purple colored key card that lets the staff know that you are a suite guest. Can't tell you how much service changes when they see the purple card.

9. Lots of invitations to private parties that include free alcohol. Suite parties, art auction private events, cocktails with the captian, etc...

10. Much to the irritation of other cruisers we were presonally escorted by our concierge into the Chocolate Buffet 1 hour before it officially opened.

11. If you wanted to see a show just ask your butler to escort you 5 minutes before in a special area that they have saved for suite guests. No need to get there early to get a great seat- great seats were saved just for suite guests!

12. Room service from any restaurant on the ship. You could have dessert or appetizers from any specialty resturant delivered to your room at no extra charge. They only time your are charged for room service for a specialty restaurant is when you ordered an entree. Not just room service, but the butler would come in a set up your table with linen table cloths, flowers, etc to make it elegent. Even would set it up on the balcony. Speaking of the balcony: one word: HUGE! We could also order a hot breakfast while non-suite guests could only get pastries, etc.

They made us feel like VIP's for the entire week. We did not stand in a single line or wait for anything on this cruise. If we asked for it, it was granted. I just wanted to give you an idea as to what you get for sometimes just a few dollars more when you travel with NCL in a suite. I cannot think of a better way to travel and will be contacting you soon to book a cruise for next year for us again! Thanks again!
